Tuning Tabla Dayan to 'D' with an electronic tuner1. Set the tuner to the desired pitch 2. Test the dayan. 3. Powder and warm up the head. 4. Tap gently with the hammer until entire circumference gives the same clear 'tin'. 5. continue to warm up the head - check frequently against tuner. 6. If head goes sharp, adjust with upward strokes of hammer. |
